Software Tester/Test Manager

Software Testers/Test Managers are Quality Assurance analysts who design and write tests for software that has to be tested on meeting the business requirements. They use tools in order to define the test cases and their exact steps and execute them manually.

Typical responsibilities of a software tester include:

• Analysis of requirements and specifications
• Designing and writing test cases in order to validate new functionalities, components and interfaces by using tools & add-ons like JIRA & Xray
• Estimating efforts for test case preparation and execution
• Manual execution of test cases
• Investigating problems in software as a result of testing (of failed tests in particular)
• Preparing test reports
• Examining bug reports & prioritizing necessary tests
• Error management and identification of error sources
• Working with software developers to elaborate solutions
• Updating and/or adjusting existing test cases after software updates
• Defining test cases for regression testing
• Support of user acceptance tests
